Admission to practice law given in Germany
The following professional regulations apply:
- the Federal Lawyers' Act (BRAO),
- the Professional Code of Conduct for Lawyers (BORA),
- the German Lawyers' Fees Act (RVG),
- the Specialist Lawyers’ Ordinance (FAO),
- the Professional Code of Conduct for Lawyers in the European Union (CCBE) and
- the Law on the Activities of European Lawyers in Germany (EURAG).
The professional regulations to which lawyers are subject can be viewed at
www.brak.de and are available from the Rechtsanwaltskammer Sachsen,
Glacisstraße 6, 01099 Dresden.
Professional indemnity insurance for lawyers:
Lawyers are obliged by the Federal Lawyers' Act to take out professional indemnity
insurance with a minimum sum insured of € 250,000.00. The responsible
professional indemnity insurer is: R + V Allgemeine Versicherung AG.
Dispute resolution
In the event of disputes, the dispute resolution body responsible for the case would
be Allgemeine Verbraucher Schlichtungsstelle des Zentrums für Schlichtung e.V.,
Straßburger Straße 8, 77694 Kehl, www.verbraucher-schlichter.de. However, we
refuse to participate in dispute resolution proceedings.
Obligation arising from the Regulation on Online Dispute Resolution in Consumer
Matters (ODR Regulation)
Entrepreneurs established in the European Union which enter into online sales
contracts or online service contracts and online marketplaces established in the
Union shall provide a link to the ODR platform on their websites. This link must be
easily accessible to consumers. Entrepreneurs established in the European Union
which enter into online sales contracts or online service contracts shall also provide
their email addresses.
